Dentures in Red Deer
Dentures are a removable option for replacing missing teeth. There are two types of dentures – complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, and partial dentures are used when some of the natural teeth still remain. Dentures are made to resemble your natural teeth as much as possible.
How Dentures Are Made
Creating dentures takes time – a few weeks and several appointments will be required. Several measurements of your jaws will be taken, including how they interact with one another and how much space is between them. Various models will then be created and ‘tried on’ to be assessed for colour, fit, and shape. Only when a model is approved will it be cast as the final set of dentures.
What Will Dentures Be Like?
Like most significant changes, dentures may take some getting used to. They may feel strange until your tongue and cheeks get used to them and you learn to keep them in place. Any discomfort should decrease as the mouth adjusts to the dentures. Eating certain foods may take some practice, as well as pronouncing certain words. Again, this should dissipate over time. Fortunately, it won’t take any extra time for them to look great. Because dentures are made to resemble your natural teeth, your smile will be at its best while you adjust.
